Three-Party Conference Call Issue
« on: October 26, 2012, 11:05:15 AM »
I have a customer, running MCD 4.2 (10.2.2.15) with SIP trunks from a local SIP provider. The provider requires all outbound SIP calls to have a from address of a DID number on the customers calling block.

The issue we're having presents itself in two different ways.

Senario1:
Within the SIP Peer profile, no "Default CPN Substitution" has been set.
The deskphone calls cellphone A. Cellphone A rings with the deskphones DID as its caller ID. A wireshark trace shows the from address as being the deskphones DID number. When the user presses conf/transfer and dials cellphone B, they receive a fast busy and Invalid message on their display. The wireshark trace shows that a call was attempted to cell phone B, only the from header contains cell phone A's phone number; so the carrier rejected it.

Senari21:
Within the SIP Peer profile, "Default CPN Substitution" has been set.
The deskphone calls cellphone A. Cellphone A rings with the deskphones DID as its caller ID. A wireshark trace shows the from address as being the deskphones DID number. When the user presses conf/transfer and dials cellphone B, cellphone B will ring, but will show the default CPN substitution number on the caller id. The wireshark trace shows the from number as the "Default CPN Substitution" number.

What the customer would like to happen is that in all cases, the deskphones DID would be given off for both cellphone users.

Additionally the following are set in the SIP peer profile:
CPN Restriction - No
Public Calling Party Number Passthrough - No
Use Diverting Party Number as Calling Party Number - No

Anyone have any ideas? I can provide copies of the peer profile, both the trunk and phone COS, and the wireshark traces if that would be helpful. Also, the CPN is done via the older "DID Ranges for CPN Substitution"

Thanks

Try looking in the COS to see if the display held ID on transfer is enabled (something like that at least).

That was it, thank you!
