Check/monitor lines in use?
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:31:50 AM »
Hi all, sorry for the newbie question but is it possible for me to check or monitor the use of incoming/outgoing lines?

We have an ISDN30 with 15 lines shared between 2 resileint 3300's and I suspect that thre is an issue whereby we are only actually getting 15 of those line at any 1 time. I would like to know how to investiage our line usage and even see in realtime the amount of lines in use at any particulat time (particularly when my users are getting the "busy" message when trying to dial out).

To see realtime usage you can run the maintenance command "stat (PLID of circuit)" and that will give you the status of the channels. If you have any channels that look like they are always busy you can run the "resource (PLID)" command and that will show you what is using that channel.

find out what trunk group the trunks are in.

I'll assume Trunk Group #1 for this example.

In Maintenance Commands enter:  Stat Trunk Group 1

It will show you what trunks are busy or idle.

Also you export your software/maintenance logs into Excel and then do a search for the word "Congestion".
It will show you the number of times all trunks were busy when another call tried to go out.

stat trunk group 1
This command does not work on one of my 3300s. No error and no output when I click submit.

Schedule a reboot of that controller.
