delay going to menu option

Just installed a 3300 with Auto Attendant.When an incoming caller hits the Auto Attendant menu  opt 1 goes to reception all OK, option 2 to other menu for other depts. In the second menu choosing opt 2 takes you to sales but there is a 4 second delay before ringing tone. I have reduced the interdigit pause with no difference. 2 digit exts 20 - 29 any ideas how to reduce this time or play MOH. Thanks

What exactly is 2 transferring to when you transfer to sales?
If you dial that number (the extn - not '2') from your phone is there still a delay?

If the extensions start with a 2 and you have transfer to any extension enabled on the VM wouldn't that cause the delay? Since the system would be waiting to see if you wanted to reach one of the extensions?
