Time on our phones
«

The time on our phones is about 6 mins behind real time. I go into System Settings and Date and Time, I can only change the time zone. Still behind? I now have it set to CST6CDT as we are in central time zone. Still 6 mins behind. I have no clue how to resolve this?

Depending on your system software version you maybe to set it up to sync to an NTP source so that the time is more accurate, otherwise you have to manually update the time either through the Group Admin tool or Maintenance commands.

I suggest NTP too! And by the way, time display on Mitel IP phones is not very reliable. We noticed that there may be a difference of 2 minutes from one telephone to another in worst cases.

Per Mitel, the time on the displays is not meant to be used for true time-keeping, more of an approximation of the current time. If you do a search, I think that Ralph and I have discussed this before.

Go in maintenance commands and type:
readdatetime
If it's wrong and you don't have an NTP server,
type
writedatetime .........

Thanks august.
I wasn't aware of the readdatetime command.
I entered it on our system and the time came back 5 minutes faster than what the phones display.
