Connection to AWC server did not complete
« on: March 07, 2012, 04:58:27 PM »
Continuing with my theme of getting apps to work outside of the office as well as inside the office, I was trying to test Video Calling from UCA from outside the office.  The Softphone part works.  The Video portion really relies on the AWC.  However, when I attempt this, the collaboration client times out with a

"Connection to AWC server did not complete.  Your computer could not connect to the AWC server."

So, UCA works.  Softphone works.  That means I'm talking to both the UCA Server and the PBX (5000 series).

Also, the webportal of the AWC server works.  So I can get it publicly.  But the collaboration client is the thing that's failing, so I'm guessing that once again it's going to come down to ports in the firewall.

If anyone has a list, please let me know.  I definitely have some ports to try now that I think of it.  Will report back.

I assume that you have the AWC server listed on the UCA server?

Having not done anything with a 5000 before, but for a 3300 system, you need ports 80, 443, and 4443 open off of the top of my head.

Success!  The "Test Browser" feature on the AWC page worked this time and the collaboration client connected.

Page 1-9 of the attached AWC Config Manual provided the ports.  I used the following:

TCP 22
TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 4443
UDP 5060
UDP 6060

There was an additional range of UDP 20000-20998 I did not use since it is specific to the 3300 and my environment is a 5000.

Sweet!

Unfortunately I can't help too much on the 5000 specific stuff as they don't actually sell these in Australia yet, so I haven't even ever seen one!  :)
