Setting up Zone Paging - Mitel 3300
« on: February 29, 2012, 11:10:05 AM »
Hello Everyone,

We recently installed the Mitel MXe, ICP 3000 & Nupoint Messenging.  I have been tasked to set up paging zones.  I've been reading and gathering info. from various sources and what I've come up with is programming should take place in the following areas:  1.  Page Group  2.  Feature Access Codes  3.  Class of Service  4.  Class of Restriction (?), 4.  Group Page & 5.  Multiline keys.  I think all of these are involved but not sure where to start, what to do with these, etc.  Help.

It's been a while since I've set up a page group so if I get something wrong bear with me and someone else will correct me.

1 - create a new page group.   You'll assign a new directory number to the page group such as 111.
2 - add in all the extensions you want in the page group.
3 - look up (or create) your feature access codes for direct page.
4 - dial the direct page code + the new directory number for the page group you created.

Ok.  Sorry, our telecom tech only provided me with limited training?  He pretty much did everything, we have to call him out when we want something new, but I'm want to be able to do some of these things myself.

1.  Need to know how to create page group & directory number.

2.  Add all extensions?

3.  Found the feature code for Direct Page.

4.  Will be able to do once 1 is done

Assuming you are running at least MCD 4.x you would go to users & Devices -> Group Programming -> Page Groups.
Create a new page group (1 for example), add the required extensions in to the group.
Since you have already created the FAC you should then be able dial the FAC + zone ID.

I prefer to set up a system speed call for this, and then just tell the user to dial 33 to page for x zone, 34 for y zone, etc.

You can also program a direct page button and then they hit the zone or user's extension that they wish to call.

Make sure you have enabled the COS options to allow and receive group pages.

Thank you everyone for your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Love this Forum, I don't know what I would have done without it, because Mitel is very limited with their assistance.

Thanks for the complement and for everyone's assistance.
If you get a chance, give it a Google 1+ or a tweet.
The more people we have participate the more/better details we have.

Mattmayn,

In your reply, in the 2nd paragraph you say "Make sure you have enable the COS options to allow and receive group pages"

I went to Sys. Feature Settings - Class of Service Options, there are 7 COS Numbers, with Comments- #IP Sets, Vmail MWI, Fax/MDM, Vmail, Attendants, Trunks, PRI Trunks, IP Trunks.

I selected COS Number for IP Sets, opened it up and
Group Call Fwd Me Accept - Y
Group Call Fwd Me Allow   - Y
Group Page Accept - Y
Group Page Allow Y
Group Presence Control - N
Group Presnce 3rd party control - N

Does on of these refer to the "enable COS options to allow and group pages"

If it doesn't where would I go to "enable COS "       "    "      "        "      "?

Thanks

The two group page options were the ones I was talking about.
