Caller ID While Ringing
« on: October 30, 2011, 08:39:00 PM »
Hi All,

I have a 3300 Cx running 5.0

The Main number rings to a Hunt Group containing one muticall that sits on the Reception phone.

The issue we have is that while the phone is ringing the user sees the name (or number) of the hunt group untill the call is answered then the Caller ID is displayed. The user has requested to see the Caller ID all the time.

I've had this issue a long time ago but for the life of me i can't fix it this time.

Halp!

It al depends on what type of phone you have. The reception phone will need to either a 5320/5330/5340. Anything else will not diaply the number while ringing.

I need to setup a ring group and have same issue like in this old thread. However the call id can be seen on 5212/5312 set sunder some conditions when the next member of the ring group is a key appearance of the same set. For example:

1. I configured one 5212 set with following keys:
key 1 - 418 (prime line)
key 2 - 457
key 3 - 458
key 4 - 459

2. Then I configured a ring group 401 with following members:
418
457
419 (another set - Navigator in this case)
458
459

Then I dialed 401 and see what was happening:
- the line 418 was ringing showing 401 as the caller ID
- after few seconds the line 457 was ringing but showing the correct caller ID (not 401)
- after few seconds the line 419 was ringing showing 401 as the caller ID
- after few seconds the line 458 was ringing showing 401 as the caller ID
- after few seconds the line 459 was ringing showing the correct caller id (not 401)

I wonder if there is any way to display the caller ID always instead of the ring group pilot number. Any thoughts?

Wasn't there a timer in COS that told the phone how long to display a number?

Hi Ralph,
I was already playing with the options "Display Caller ID On Multicall/Keylines Timer" and "Display Caller ID on multicall/keylines" in COS assigned to the sets and to the ring group but the behaviour was the same :-(

IIRC the default on ring groups cannot be altered - it shows ring group name/number till answered then CLI.

I use multicalls in this scenario unless you need cascade ringing.....

Delayed ringing is the best you can get with multicall.
