3300 MXe Embedded Voicemail - Unknown
« on: October 21, 2011, 04:47:11 PM »
All messages on our Embedded Voicemail are showing up with a caller ID of unknown. Is there a setting I am missing?

Heck while I am at it.. Can the embedded voicemail not do call screening (I guess supervised transfer) when people dial by the directory? I get calls direct from voicemail (dialed from the directory after hours) and If I answer it auto connects me... Supervised transfer is set under vm options.. not sure what it even does.

Would have to see the COS of everything involved it would be easy to track down a call in and transfer does it show unknown? My guess is it has to do with the display caller id options in COS.

I went through all the COS's and all have "Calling Number Display - Internal - ONS" set to yes.

You would have to see if your PRI is sending it.  You can view the SMDR or CCS Trace of your Digital Trunks to ensure it is.

If it is, I would then go to your Class of Service options.

If it is not, I would contact your carrier.

Caller ID works on all incoming calls just fine. Just doesnt get logged on voicemails. All voicemails say that the phone number is unknown. Same with transfers from the Auto Attendant, those show the Voicemail hunt group numbers and not the actual number of the call being transfered inbound.

I suspect the problem is with the COS of the VM ports.
I've attached an export of a known good one.

WOW! Thanks! Partial Success... Now outside calls that are answered live and transfered to voicemail have caller ID info saved.

If the auto attendant picks up and you dial the extension and get voicemail you get the caller ID of the voicemail port saved to the message not the number calling..

Display ANI/ISN Calling & Calling/Called & Caller ID on Multicall were all set to no, changing to yes gave me the partial success.

Finally last question... there is at least a minute delay after a message is left and the light is lit on the phones.. anyway to speed that up?

Wait.. check that... calls transfered to voicemail from our receptionist using the UCA Advanced Console still show up as unknown. If I call my DID and xfer to someone elses voicemail it will show the caller ID fine.

Check the COS for the Console is it different? Verify Display Caller ID on Transfer.

Never too late right?

Was able to get Embedded 3300 to send Voicemail Caller ID by enabling these 3 options in CoS:

Display ANI/ISDN Calling Number Only
Display ANI/DNIS/ISDN Calling/Called Number
Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines
