Bluetooth
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:17:49 PM »
I was just reading over the RN for MCD 4.2 SP2 and noticed a bluetooth note for 53XX phones saying that the hardware will be available in July. Will you be able to pair normal bluetooth headsets with the phones now? This was the first I had heard of this so I was a little curious.

Not heard of that. Would be really nice as their current headsets are not very good quality.

I haven't had too many problems with them. They are OEM Jabra headsets anyway.

yea GN Telecom is OEM Jabra.

There are a few revisions of the headsets.  The earliest version has a line down the middle of the mic part and this one sucks really bad.  It cracks down that physical line and the battery dies very quickly.

The newer version of it doesn't seem to be nearly as bad.  I've had good luck after replacing those first versions.

Bluetooth pairing would be nice, but the 33ish ft restriction of bluetooth is so limiting.  I like the DECT 200+ ft. :)
