Blocking Inbound calls
« on: December 18, 2008, 12:29:22 PM »
I have a need to block an inbound caller. Does anyone know if this is possible or do I need to contact AT&T.

Last time I tried I had to call Bell and they needed a police report to do anything.

The 3300 cannot nativly block numbers on inbound.
Having said that, depending on your config you may be able to use a 6510 to block it if the 6510 is your AA and the call is ringing to it first.
If the number is calling directly into an extension, it should be possible with YA.

The opportunities are pretty narrow.  Hope that helps.

I wonder if you could somehow use Call Recognition Service to do this? Program the unwanted number(s) as EHDU users, put them in their own interconnect with no access to anything else. Unwanted caller dials in, gets dialtone immediately, then can't dial anything at all.

Use IVR or use external voicemail. That's about it for now.

There's an interesting solution!   We need someone to try this.
