5340 Transfer Call

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. We just installed our new phones 5340 and I have a question. If I answer a call, and transfer to call to a colleague, I press the colleague's extension (already pre-programmed on the phone).

9 times out of 10, the caller ID shows the outside phone number at my colleague's phone when I transfer the call. However, once in a while, if I transfer the call, my colleague's phone display "me" calling her, instead of showing the phone number of the outside call being transferred...

Any idea why?

  I've never worked on the 5000 system, but I'd have to guess that the outside caller ID is not available?  I can't see why it would behave otherwise....

might behave differently if you sometimes announce the call and sometimes do a blind transfer (un-announced)??
