Help with 5324
« on: March 03, 2011, 11:05:10 AM »
We have a 5324 setup at one of our receptionsist desk.

Extention is 5200.  She is looking to setup a personal line as well.  I figure i go into the phone and add a Multicall with a new extension, but does not take.  Once it is setup I go back into key assignment  the line is there, but comes up as a Single line...so for some reason it is changing.

When you dial, comes up invalid.

Any thoughts on this?  I set up multicall lines all the time, but not too often on the 5324.  Is this some sort of limitation on the 5324?

Thanks.

-Evan

If the number exists only on that phone, and only once on that phone, then it is indeed a single line. You would need to create multiple instances of it for it to be multicall.

I'm not sure why it would say invalid when you try to call it. Are you making this attempt from the inside or outside? Are you trying to call a DID associated with this new personal line and that's whats returning the invalid, or does the display of a Mitel phone show invalid when you try to call the 4-digit extension?

my fault...

i did not have a directory entry across the cluster!  so now i can call it.

Now i have a second problem; the call comes in on main line, not a second key appearance. I need to have the call on a different key, so she can see it is her personal line.

Thanks again.

If your calling the personal line extension number, the only way it would ring on her prime DN would be if its forwarded there. Otherwise, I wonder if she's paying enough attention to truly see what line is flashing?

yes i double checked and triple checked with her.

I created a phone entry in MAC form.  I will not register the phone, but now try the multicall on her main phone.  See how that works.

This has been resolved.

Two issues...phone was not in directory.

Needed to be a multical Key appearance to show on different button.  A single line appearance showed on the main extension of that phone.

Thanks.
