How can I see what number an extension is trying to dial
« on: August 27, 2025, 11:31:37 AM »
I have a device on an analog extension and it keeps trying to dial a 4 digit number that is invalid.   The number does not show up in the SMDR as the call never completes.   Is there a maintenance command that will show me what the device is trying to dial?   This is such a noob question and I apologize but I am not getting anywhere with my searches for answers.  lol

I suppose you could do something by trial and error.
If you were to create an ARS digits dialed plan of 1 + 3 digits to follow and route it out the same trunks as your normal calls it would generate an SMDR record.
You may have to do 2+3, 3+3, etc. until you actually find what it's doing.

I would think using a digigrabber of buttset connected to this would work, with buttset you could monitor and use a cellphone app to decode the tones

If you know when it happens you could run a CCS TRACE ENABLE in maintenance commands it should populate. Depending on how busy your system is you'll get a lot of data so you may have to copy and paste it to search on. Don't forget to disable it when you're done.

Hey guys thanks for the suggestions. I was running into all sorts of issues.  Even a dtmf decoder was giving some weird characters. The door call company eventually showed up and fixed the issue with their dialer and it is good now. I still wish there was a way in the Mitel to log the incomplete calls digit dialed.  I haven't run into it often but it would be a col little troubleshoot tool.
