Block display of ACTUAL number dialed from system speed call

Hello, is there a way to block the Actual Number from displaying when dialing a system speed call. 3300 v9.4
In other words
using "system speed call" digits for page group (ie. **25 to speed call "#**7##8XXX" which is a page group. Would like the display only show "**25")

I can think of one way.
Create a loopback trunk.
Route XXXX to the loop back. In the digit mod for the route, strip all the digits and insert the actual dial string.
The user will only see what they dialed.
