Ring Group to Voicemail
« on: March 19, 2024, 03:54:23 PM »
I have 3 cordless Mitel DECT 112 phones part of a ring group, x1000. The three phones (1001, 1002, 1003) are all set to ring at the same time. Since the 112's are part of a ring group they are not able to show a message waiting indicator if a voicemail is left in the ring group. To get around it I created an overflow point to a desk phone, x1004, and set up a voicemail for that and changed the call rerouting to go to voicemail but it never triggers.

What I am trying to accomplish is to have a MWI when a call comes into x1000, either for the ring group or for the desk phone. Any help here would be appreciated.

Voicemail won't pick up for your overflow point. You'll want to call rerouting 1st Alternative for 1000 to go to voicemail and have mailbox 1000.

A couple of options are available to you from there. I'm not sure if the 112's have additional line keys, but you could put a message waiting indicator for x1000 on those or the 1004 extension.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm able to get it to route to the voicemail for x1000 after changing the 1st Alt but the issue of the MWI persists. The MWI does not work for the desk phone for x1000 since "the directory number is in use elsewhere". Is there a way to have the MWI appear on the deskphone for that extension?

Alright so I found an older thread from Ralph that explained a way to get this working.

x1000 programmed on a 5330e
1000 forwards to 11000 (ring group) on busy
MWI for 1000 set on 5330e

The final issue I'm running into is that the ring group is only ringing for 2 rings. I've changed the CoS for both the originating extension and ring group but the issue persists. Having the ring group ring longer than the desk phone would be ideal as I'm getting 5 rings on the desk phone.
