Mitel 6940 on SMBC
« on: May 15, 2023, 06:00:28 AM »
Hi, we are spread over four locations with an smbc at our main office, and 6940s as deskphones.

At our main office 6940 deployment works as intended, it boots and find the smbc so i can log in. But at the other locations the only option is mivoice connect. So, what should i tell my colleauge who sits on the IT bit?

It sounds like they are on MiNET firmware so you might need to switch the firmware to SIP. A search here should give you some guidance on hot to do it.

Connect is still SIP firmware, but if it's for MiCloud Connect that uses a special load. I think the easiest resolution would be to boot the phones into Web Recovery Mode (hold down # and 1 while booting), go into the web recovery interface (the phone will display its IP when Web Recovery Mode is enabled) and manually load firmware from the load sitting on your 400.
