IP Dect 5610
« on: January 10, 2011, 03:06:05 PM »
Gents, trying to get some 5610 handsets working on a 3300 running 4.2. I have configured them and they register to IP base stand ok BUT I have no transmission when I make calls to a 5312 handset ( which has the dect stand ). I can call 5610 to 5610 ok and 5610 to analogue ok and analogue to 5312 ok but not 5610 to 5312, its ets call up and I can answer it but get no transmission at all.
Any idea's ?????? ???

Is the DECT stand on the same network as the 3300's?
If no, is there a firewall between them?

Hi Ralph, no system is one stand alone 3300,  two 5312 with dect stands and ten 5610 handsets.

I can call everyway ok except sip (dect) to ip.

IP to IP ok
IP to analogue ok
IP to SIP  fails as no transmission.
SIP to analogue ok

I have now tried two dect stands and two IP phones

I will keep trying, any idea's welcome.

More info on this, I have a temp fix, If you plug the dect stand directly into the layer 2 switch, it all works as it should no problems.

And then if you re-plug the dect stand back into the 5312 it STAYS working.

BUT if you pwer down the dect stand or reboot it the problem comes back.

Now awaiting info from Mitel Support.  Will update when I get it.

Mitel have requested I update dect stand firmware and then retest, problem is I have a new laptop with windows 7 and cannot work out how to FTP as that is the only way of updating the dect stands.

Anyone have any suggestions???

The docs say download and install firmware to ftp root but maybe I am having a bad day, I cannot get it to work.  Should I put firmware in same place as 3300 software .EG  c/inetpub/ftproot or somewhere else???

You don't want to FTP the firmware, you need to tftp the firmware to the 5610.

TFTPD32 is a great free tftp server. You extract the firmware from Mitel's zip folder, tell the tftpd32 program where you extracted it to, and then put your computer's ip address onto the 5610. The whole thing takes around 30 minutes.

And disable your Windows firewall or open UDP Port 69.

Problem solved with advice from Mitel support,  I had to remove all the Vlan entries in option 125 and then reboot the ip phones.

Also used filezilla to upgrade dect stands and handsets after putting the four software files on to the 3300 in /sysro/tftp folder and then pointing the dect stand at the 3300.

Thanks for all suggestions..
