250 PRI Disconnected
« on: March 01, 2023, 12:04:35 PM »
I was moving some of our voice modems around and now our system has alarm #114 call technician. When I try to dial out it says PRI is unplugged. What should I check? I'm thinking maybe one of the tiny phone cables coming out of the voice modems broke when I was moving them around. I've restarted the modems as well as the 250 itself. What do you guys think?

herpderp,

There should be a T1/E1/PRI card installed on the main chassis of the system.

It will take a RJ-45 style plug that would go to your Carrier Equipment.

Plug that cord back into the card, and if it is a dual card then try the one of the left as you are looking at it.

Give it a few moments and the card should 'Green' up.

Thanks,

TE

Thanks! I traced that cable and pushed it into the other device a tiny bit and it started working. Looks like it needs a new RJ45 connector on that end.

herpderp,

You will want to pay attention to how it is pinned out as a normal patch cord may not work for you.

Sometimes, depending on the equipment, it may require a T-1 crossover cable where 1,2 and 4,5 are swapped on one end.

Thanks,

TE
