Vocera SIP integration with Mitel/Shoretel Connect Director
« on: September 26, 2022, 01:50:16 AM »
Hello,
Has anyone done a Vocera telephony integration with Mitel Connect?

We are just rolling out Vocera Wi-Fi badge communications system over multiple sites and can't work out how the SIP integration is supposed to work.

For each site we have local SIP Trunks, a local SBC, a local Mitel voice switch and that works well with Mitel phones and our Spectralink Wi-Fi enabled phones.
Now there is a local Vocera SIP Telephony Gateway server, essentially a Windows server which Vocera install their SIP Gateway software. Vocera just want to know what the ip address is for the SIP server. Then the Vocera badges can in theory initiate a DID call via our SIP to make outgoing calls, and in theory receive calls from outside on the Vocera badge.
Vocera state that they only need the IP address of the SIP and that they don

Should be the same IP address the phones connect to.

Thanks so much for the response!
I didn't notice that the post ended up being truncated.

Vocera state that they only need the IP address of the SIP and that they don’t need or supply any SIP client usernames or passwords. But no specific information for our Mitel Connect Director setup.
1) Can you setup the system to accept a connection via an unauthenticated IP Address which would be the local site Vocera sip gateway server? And how?
2) Can this use the pool of existing SIP Trunks on the local site SBC?
3) Can a DID from the existing local site number range be allocated to this connection?
