Mitel 3300 Consoles (PC Console vs 5540)
« on: April 12, 2022, 03:28:02 PM »
Hi there,
We currently have 3 soft consoles (MiVoice Business on PC) for our Mitel 3300.
Our operators have challenges with some of the variables that come along with using a PC.
I am looking to simplify and chnged from PC to the 5540 IP Console. I don't think we will be losing any needed features aside from bluetooth headsets.

Do I need a special license to switch to the 5540 or is it pretty straightforward? Any other considerations I should make?
Thanks

Honestly the only place I will put in a standard console is in a hotel, then only ONE unless they are large enough to have a dedicated operator (few are)... A console license is a console license, you don't need anything special. The big difference is a 5540 costs more than two or even three of the PC's most receptionists would have, so unless you are pushing 400+ calls a day per operator the PC console is the way to go. The only advantage a 5540 has over a PC console is it's durability... Otherwise it more difficult to use for anything aside from answering calls and transferring them to a destination you know.
