PRI Forwarding
« on: March 05, 2022, 02:32:25 PM »
I am not a Mitel technician however i have been tasked with forwarding a PRI trunk to include all DIDs to an external DID or group of DIDs located on a SIP trunk.  I am not sure which type of Mitel I have I do know it is not a SX200 i am thinking wither a 3000 or 5000.  My question is it possible to forward the entire trunk or do I have to forward each ext.  I am not worried about maintaining DID to ext translation as we will be porting the DIDs to a new SIP trunk in the near future.  Any help would be appreciated along with info on how to setup the forward.

Why can't you just forward at the carrier level? You would have to forward each number (at least each number actively in use) on the PRI to a corresponding number on the SIP peer, but it would be much more efficient for the carrier to do that rather than trombone the call through the PBX.

Carrier does not have after hours support and we are a little under the gun.

It is now called a MiVoice Office 250 or a MiVO-250 as the 5000 or 5k is now given to a different phone system altogether.

The MiVO-250 comes as a CS or HX controller and the 5000 or 5K doesn't.

As for how to perform what you are asking for it can be done through the system up to a point.

Create a phantom extension and then forward that phantom extension to the SIP Trunks DID that you want to send it to.

You can do this on a 1:1 ratio or an all:1 ratio depending on how many DIDs you need to act differently on your new phone system.

For each DID that you want to route differently you would need a separate phantom extension forwarded to the SIP Trunk DID that you need to route differently.

Thanks,

TE
