SX 200 PRI framing and coding
« on: December 22, 2021, 09:30:03 AM »
One of my clients asked me to take a look at a hotel phone system for a friend.
They have an SX 200. I don't program it, but I can find someone who does.
Client needs to move from Windstream and move their PRI to another carrier.
The existing PRI is AMI. The new carrier cannot do AMI. Can the SX 200 be programmed for B8ZS, ESF?
I do not want to tell them they have to get a new system because their old system cannot have the PRI programmed for the carrier specs and I don't want to tell them to go through the nightmare they apparently had to go through to find another PRI carrier that can do AMI.
Thanks for any assistance you might be able to provide.

Depends on the card and software version... Older version of the SX-200 will only do T-1 (NOT PRI) and it must be D4/AMI... Some of the newest version with a dedicated PRI card can do it, but it requires an old software to connect to it that only works in 95/98/XP and hasn't been supported for many years. If this is an ICP with a T1/PRI card, it should be able to be provisioned for the PRI without an issue.

You need to verify that this is a PRI circuit not a T1. Like mentioned older Mitel have T1 cards. I think you can use an Adtran 90X to convert prom PRI to a Sprint *ANI*DNIS to a older card and at least pass caller id number. Only will get name on a true PRI. In Mitel this requires the card or module (if icp)
