Creating a mailbox for a hunt group.
« on: December 06, 2021, 10:07:58 AM »
Hi,
I'm pretty much a Mitel system novice so I am still finding my way around the system..

On our system during business hours if someone rings into the main office it rings on two devices which I believe utilises a hunt group which I've identified.
I've now been asked to setup a new voicemail box that phone calls are automatically diverted to after a set amount of time if left unanswered that can be picked up by either one of the two devices in a hunt group at a later time.

I've been researching it and have a rough idea of what to do myself but would like to clarify things before I break something.
Please can anyone tell me the steps involved to do this?

Many thanks
Dan

In this case you would create an unassociated mailbox, and use a Call Routing Announcement to route calls to it (remove greetings, set the Timeout value to the mailbox you created). At this point I usually recommend doing Vmail to Email to an email list of the people responsible for the mailbox, as you can only alert one phone of a new message easily.

Or: create a phantom extension with an associated mailbox, make that phantom the recall destination for the hunt group.

Use DEE to light the message lamps on up to four desk phones.
