Emails failing using Office 365
« on: October 09, 2021, 04:31:52 PM »
Can anyone help with this error. Im trying to setup voicemail to email via O365. I have set the smtp settings but its still not working. I have this in the log which would suggest its trying to send as root@

How do I change this to be the email address?

I have already set the From in SMTP Smarthost Configuration to be "Use the Mail Server User ID configured in the MSL server-manager"

Code: [Select]
2021-10-09 04:02:20.390474500 delivery 5443: failure: 127.0.0.1_failed_after_I_sent_the_message./Remote_host_said:_554_5.2.252_SendAsDenied;_micollab@domain.co.uk_not_allowed_to_send_as_root@micollabserver.domain.co.uk;

You need to set the email settings in MSL to use a valid account on the Office365 tenant. However this is only a temp fix as Microsoft will be disabling basic authentication for O365 in a year, so the correct fix here is to update the MiCollab server to 9.3 and set up OAuth to O365.

Thanks

Where do you set the email settings?

Micollab -> Configuration -> E-mail settings is set with?

Server to use for outbound SMTP: smtp.office365.com
Mail server user id: a valid email address
Destination port for outbound SMTP: Port 587 - TLS encryption if available

Then in

Micollab -> Applications -> NuPoint Web Console -> Unified Messaging -> Smartest Configuration I have "Use the Mail Server User ID configured in the MSL server-manager"

As far as I can see this should work
