MiCollab Client 9.2.104 for Windows - Use Teleworker Question
« on: August 05, 2021, 09:48:13 AM »
Hello Folks,

We have staff that utilize the softphone which is part of the MiCollab Client for Windows. When their in the office they need to select Settings -> General -> Use Teleworker (uncheck) and out of the office they need to check it. Is this what other organizations are required to do? It just seems like automating this somehow would save our end-users from needing to perform this additional step.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Depends on how your network is set up. The easiest fix to this would be to make sure the DNS entry for the FQDN of the MiCollab server always points to the WAN IP of an MBG, either the colocated MBG or a standalong MBG clustered with collab. So to keep it simple, lets say you just have a MiCollab in server/gateway mode, with a LAN IP of 10.1.1.10 and an internet IP of 12.12.12.12. You would want to not have an internal DNS entry pointing collab.domain.tld to 10.1.1.10, so that all MiCollab clients will always use the 12.12.12.12 interface, even when on the local LAN. Then the clients can leave Teleworker option enabled all the time.
