Attendant Console Rings
« on: July 28, 2021, 11:48:59 AM »
Hi, When I press 0 for the operator/attendant, the call is terminated after 10 rings unanswered.
Where should I start to look to make it indefiniate?

Also, do you know if it is possible to add some sort of greeting or message on hold for the attendants?
Something like...."Thanks for calling an operator will be with you shortly"

Thanks!

What is "0"? A speed dial to something or an LDN key assignment or something else?

Hi Ace, sorry 0 is the number for the attendant group (operator).
I don't see 0 in 'System Speed Calls but it does go to the different Attendant IP Consoles (1070/1080/1090)

EDIT: The only reference to 0 I see so far is a soft key appearance on each of the three consoles

So it's an LDN appearance.. That is what Console Softkeys used to be called.

Been a long time since I programmed a console, but what do you want them to do if unanswered? I believe these just use Call Rerouting so you should find an entry for "0" in the Call Rerouting form where you could assign an Alway/1st/2nd forward point...

Thank you my friend.

The attendant's are hotel operators and right now when a guest presses 0 the call terminates after 10 rings....it should ring indefinitely since they don't want it to go to voicemail nor be forwarded.
(They should also always answer before 10 rings, but that's not always the case unfortunately) Anything is better than the guest perceiving being hung up on after waiting for so long.

Anyways...you are indeed correct...there is an entry for 0 in Call Rerouting and they are all set to "1"
In the Call Rerouting Always form, 1 is set for "No Reroute" for all.
Doesn't it seem like it should ring indefinitely with configuration or do you think there is something else to check?

Thank you so much!

check the cos for the console - NOT the softkey but the actual extension used
- Set under station attributes
- might be something like ringing timer
