Mitel 6920 - Teleworker setup
« on: February 15, 2021, 03:08:51 PM »
I’m trying to setup teleworker mode on a new phone, but not finding the Config Teleworker menu.   We use this for most of our call center employees and it works fine for them.  But for some reason I can’t find the settings on this new phone (same 6920 model as our others) and I’m in Advanced Settings.

Do know what I might be doing wrong?  It’s normally between Status and Diagnostics on the menu below.  It’s also not showing under the Static Settings menu either.

Thanks, Jeff

Thanks.  Just did the factory reset and still no teleworker mode config option.  Goes right to the Locked screen (no teleworker config available in Locked or unlocked mode).

It's sip.  Same result in advanced mode.  Very strange.  I must be overlooking something.  I've setup at least 20 over the last year or so and never had an issue.

It may be the firmware see

https://mitel.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1010319/1378803773

Cause
69xx sets are preloaded from the factory running 1.3.1.37.
This allows Mitel sets to connect to cloud services without the appropriate DHCP options ie option 125, RCS programming or MDNS.

69xx phones will boot up presenting the Voice Services screen

In order to boot up to this point the phone still requires it's own IP, whether it's using DHCP or hardcoding an IP Address.
Resolution
In order to toggle between the 2 Voice Service Screens
Phone first will appear with the following screen:
Initial screen

Press the "up" direction on the navigation cluster or
Use the touch screen on the 6940 and Press Service Type

Now press the right arrow softkey which toggles the screen to the MiVoice Border Gateway Screen

Press the "down" direction on the navigation cluster will allow you to enter the IP of the MiVoice Border Gateway Server or
Touch the IP address box on the 6940 and enter the IP of the MiVoice Border Gateway

Press save and restart the phone.

Additional Notes
Additional Notes
Note once the phone connects to the TFTP server of the Controller/Mivoice Border Gateway it will download whatever firmware is installed.

Refer to the appropriate Installation guide to set up appropriate options (DHCP/MDNS) for phones connecting to On Premise Controllers.
(MiVoice Business , MiVoice MX-One, MiVoice 250, MiVoice 400, MiVoice 5000)

This unfortunately didn't work.

The "Voice Services" menu is what you want. At some point the name of this menu changed (possibly with 1.5 firmware, i don't recall exactly). Select "Voice Services", then you'll see a menu to select what you're connecting to, the 2nd option should be MiVoice Border Gateway, select that one, then enter your MBG WAN IP (newer firmware even lets you enter the FQDN instead of the IP).

You do not have the Teleworker option in SIP software, if you want to connect to a MBG either go to the web interface of the phone and configure it manually or via the phone interface via advanced menu and SIP server.

Otherwise you have to setup a tftp server to install MiNET software on the phone.
