DEE not working correctly
« on: November 10, 2020, 08:10:11 AM »
I know I am just missing a simple step somewhere so I hope you can enlighten me,,,,

MiVoice250.
PRI
4 digits received by carrier

Client turns on night service for calls to be forwarded to an answering service
Created a phantom extension
created the DEE user for that phantom extension and reduced the seconds for the ringing in order to go outbound to service immediately and placed my cell phone in the secondary destination.
Call the extension from an internal phone and YAY it goes out to my cell phone

Created a night calling route table and pointed the correct 4 digit DID for the incoming number to this phantom extension
I call in and ring no answer
Not forwarding off system

I know I am missing something simple
Do I have to create a forwarding path in that particular phantom extension's field? If so, what would I point the forwarding path to?

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Sounds like your carrier is blocking calls with Caller ID that are not part of your trunk group. Go to your CO trunk group and set Propagate Original Caller ID to No and retest.

Propagate Original Caller ID is already set to no.
I have numbers coming down the pipe that hit the proprer hunt groups already and they work fine. It is just this DEE part.
Just weird. the calls seems to be ringing the phantom extension, but the phantom extension is not following the DEE user programming I set up.

Tripoth,

Did you try to call that number from a phone on the system.

Did you put the number in the DEE exactly the same as you had to call it from an extension?

Thanks,

TE

Yes. We were able to call that number from an inhouse phone using the PRI trunks

Should I create a hunt group and put the DEE in it? Point the Call Routing night table at the hunt group?

Tripoth,

No, if you can make the call from a phone using the exact digits you used in the mobile number then your issue is with the phantom extensions ability to dial it.

If you dial the phantom extension from a phone on the system what do you see on the display of the phone?

Make sure that the CPN of the phantom is the main number of the PRI.

Make sure the phantom extension’s outgoing extension is the same as the extension you tested from.

Thanks,

TE

Why are you using DEE? Simply forward the phantom to the answering service.

DND ON...Ummmm.....
Because I didn't think of it and have not forwarded a phantom extension to an outside number before. I never said I was the brightest bulb. :)
How would one go about doing that? Would that be creating a forwarding path with the outside number? That can be done? Sorry, I just have not done it before and would be extremely appreciative if you could show me.

Tech Electronics, I will test and see. Thanks!

Tripoth,

The difference between just Call Forwarding All Calls and Dynamic Extension is that Call Forwarding will not allow the call to come back to Voice Mail; it isn't monitored per se.

To perform a Call Forward of a Phantom isn't difficult and can be performed by using the remote programming feature or the Online Monitor; for you I suggest the remote programming feature.

By default I believe that remote programming is 359, but you may want to look that up to make sure it remained that way on your system.

359 + Ext + Passcode + Feature you want to use + additional feature digits

If you remove the passcode from the extension then you can lessen this by that much which may be needed in some cases if you want to create a personal speed dial to change things; in your case it won't matter.

Let's say that my phantom is ext 1000 and the number I want to forward to is 5551234567 and the passcode for the ext 1000 is default at 1000.

395,1000,1000,355,5551234567

Once you put all of that in then just wait and the phone will tell you that it has Call Forwarded All Calls to 5551234567 and then you can test by calling it.

Since you are having a problem with getting DEE to work you may also have an issue with this as well if the Extension is not allowed to make calls to that number.

Thanks,

TE

TE, you missed a digit: enter 8 prior to the phone number to access the trunk group.

I find that forwarding the phantom eliminates recall and timing issues so common with DEE.

DND ON,

Ah nuts, yep you are correct. Sorry Tripoth and thanks DND ON for that assistance!!

It has been a bit since I worked on a MiVO-250 since we don't really sell them anymore; not that it is a good excuse.

Anyway, for your reference Tripoth it would be like this. 395,1000,1000,355,8,5551234567

Thanks,

TE
