Spoof/Spam/Robo Call Option
« on: February 25, 2020, 12:42:10 PM »
I received a spoof/spam/Robo call on my cell and desk phones within five seconds of each other yesterday.  Grrr  :-\ :'(

I have thought about configuring a CRA and record a message similar to "You have reached JeffonJohns, if you are a human, press 7."  Have digit translation configured to send 7 to my extension.  Put the timeout to either drop the call, send it to a blank recording (just to tie up there circuits) or something.

I bet something similar to the above would significantly reduce the number of robo calls.  Downsides is using additional UVM resources, irritating people, Robo dialers programmed to listen for such greetings, etc..

Anybody try something similar?

I would generally only recommend this for the main listed numbers... not individual DID's. The voicemail resources on a MiVO250 are rather limited.
