Fax T.38

Dear All
I have problem with the analog Fax machine.
I run a SIP trunk via MBG and I have the number 3970xxxx,For the FAX I should set the number of 8281.
I have T.38 and compression licenses and I olso installed DSP II card, I set extension 8281 on AMB port.
The problem is I can’t call or received fax machine.
Can U help me ,with this problem.

Not really a solution to your issue but have come across issues in the past with using Fax over SIP. But the issue your having at the moment seems to be basic inbound and outbound calling over that port, have you tried connecting an analogue phone to the port and test inbound and outbound? If that doesnt work it must be something regarding your call routing on the system, providing your SIP trunk has already been tested and working.

Normally with an analogue based device connecting to a MiVB I would use a SIP ATA converter and register this as a SIP extension on the system.

Either that or use a fax-to-email which a lot more reliable and modern
