Hunt Group in AA tree [SOLVED]
« on: September 25, 2019, 01:02:16 PM »
I have a MiVoice Business 8.0 SP3. We are also using NuPoint 19.1.0.101.01 in MiCollab 8.1.0.101

We have been handed control of this system and it looks like it wasn't set up correctly. I am much more familiar with the MiVoice Office 250 than the 3300 so I am getting a bit turned around.

Here's the situation:

We have 2 phones (4007 and 4008) that ring at the same time when a caller presses 3 in the AA Tree. This is all good. However, they also both ring if an internal caller (4002) dials 4007 to speak to the co worker at that desk. I also attempted to dial 4007 on phone 4007 to access its VM but 4008 rang instead. We want to have then separate for internal calls.

I found that both 4007 and 4008 have multicall keys set up and I believe that is getting in the way.

We want it to work this way:
External caller presses 3 in AA Tree and both 4007 and 4008 ring.
Internal caller dials 4007 and only 4007 rings.

Here is what I have tried:
I created a hunt group(4999) and added 4007 and 4008 as members. I then added 4999 to the AA Tree for option 5 (for a test option before changing option 3).

The problem is when I press 5 the operator says "I'm sorry, extension 4999 is not available".

What am I missing? Can I blind transfer to a hunt group?

I have not really looked at ring groups yet. Do I need to add the hunt group to a ring group? I assumed ring groups would act similar to the multi call keys...but you know what they say about assuming...

So remember that thing about assuming and ring groups?

Ya so I used a ring group and it worked like a charm. I just created a ring group and added the 2 lines, removed the multi call buttons on each phone, then put the ring group extension in the tree and voila! Solved.
