5360 Cordless: Battery/Connection Issue
« on: September 03, 2019, 09:16:42 AM »
Our CEO has a 5360 with a cordless handset. The phone is 3-4 years old. The 5360 is displaying a low battery warning and to charge the handset, however looking in Settings it shows a full battery with the handset.  I know at times the handset may not connect/seat 100% but usually just taking it out and putting it back in resolves this issue.  The phone and handset seem to work OK, it's just the warning that seems to be a problem at this point.    Any troubleshooting ideas or things to look at?  Thanks

The battery in the handset is probably just dying... These rechargeable batteries only have a real-world life of about 2-3 years, so that could be the issue.

There could also be some connectivity issues with the contacts, try cleaning the contacts with some 90%+ pure isopropyl alcohol or even rubbing the contacts with some printer paper or very fine emery cloth.

I have not trying ripping these open to replace the batteries, but that may be the next step as they are discontinued by Mitel.
