Programmable Key Type

Is there a way to change the key maps from a locked filed to a user programmable field?
I have yet to figure this out.

maybe a better question is: how do I make the button as UNASSIGNED, so that the use can edit it through the phone webpage?

You simply reprogram the key. Of course, that's a global change for every phone using that particular keymap.
