Denying all outgoing calls to an external number.
« on: April 08, 2019, 10:15:05 AM »
We are using MiVoice Business and would like to deny all calls to a specific number.  I know this can be done using COR and ARS, but I am unfamiliar with the procedure.  Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps those that have worked with the system longer than I have will chime in but I'd simply define that full number in the digits dialed table and route it nowhere or perhaps a mailbox stating this number isn't allowed.

This is the mostly correct... Adding it to ARS Digits Dialed table and applying a COR Group that restricts the call, then the call will follow any intercept routing. You can't just use ARS to send it to mailbox without doing quite a bit more work.

This is another scenario where you could use a loopback trunk so you can modify the digits and send it to the mailbox that plays the relevant message. Or send it anywhere you want.

I think routing it back wastes resources. Sent it a route with a cor that blocks it. The toll deny message will get them to stop

...or just block it. Add a digits dialled for that specific number that sends it to the same route you already send the gambling/porn line numbers.
