6490 DECT headset stops working
« on: April 02, 2019, 11:06:59 AM »
Wondering if anyone has encountered this before - I have a 6940 with the Mitel matching DECT headset. Every few days the DECT headset will stop working / loses connection with the phone (no dial tone through it, cannot make or receive calls through it). The integrated bluetooth handset works fine and doesn't have the issue. The only way I have been able to get it back is to reboot the phone.

Does anyone have steps on how to Re-Pair a DECT Headset with the Cordless Expansion Module for a 69xx series phone?

Make sure you are running the latest 69xx firmware on your MiVB / MBG's (or upgrade to latest software). Earlier 69xx versions of firmware were awful.

Thanks I'll check - but aren't the firmware versions tied to the OS version (aka the MiVB version)?

They are, but you can upload updated 69xx firmware independently of upgrading the MiVB software.

Well if there are any step on how to "Re-Pair the DECT Headset" I'm unable to find any. (Either on Mitel's Website and searching through their eDoc's or via good ole Google)

Thanks,
-Iron
