system not loading

Hi.

 my Sx200 ICP is not loading I keep getting

machine check
Exception next instruction address: 0x00073ccc
Machine Status Register: 0x00046030
Condition Register: 0x80000000
Task: 0xd390000 "tAppStartup"
xfile: cannot write /db/xrtc file too big


 not sure what causes that. what could be done to solve this.

It likely is going to be either the hard drive or the dsp module

My money is on a hard drive failure... How far into the boot sequence does it get if you monitor the bootup through the serial port with power off?

surprisingly the system came back up after an extended period of time of loops through these errors,  it happened shortly after I got the DSP module delivered to the site and before replacing in it or do anything on the controller!

First thing I would be doing is a backup... then a printout of all the forms.

one more thing here. this system does not have a hard drive but there is an 8GB flash card, does it act like the hard drive in this case?

This is an ICP system? Is it a CX/CXi, MX, or AX?

The CX/CXi and MX have a traditional HDD with an IDE interface (40-pin), typically 40-160GB.

The AX uses CompactFlash card(s) on the processor card, they are 8GB if I recall correctly, and yes they are essentially a hard drive to the system.
