Setting up SRC with the 3300
« on: November 09, 2010, 03:49:26 PM »
For some reason we are getting an RTP timeout from our CRE which sees the SRC just fine.  Is there some step in the SRC setup we missed that the 3300 MXe is not sending the voice traffic over?

Thanks.

are the phones that you are wanting to record pointed at the SRC rather that the 3300?

No, the phones are ACD phones through the 3300.  My understanding is the SRC is supposed to be getting all the voice traffic from the 3300.  Then the CRE server we have will pull off the streams we want to record.  Mitel is taking there time getting back to us on the issue and I have third party vendors waiting.

As an experiment, take one of the ACD phones, reboot it while holding the 7 key.  It will ask you for the TW server IP address.  Put in the IP address of the SRC and then let it reboot.

Then test to see if you're recording.

of all the SRC's that we have installed they all work in this way. If you whant to record all users you set your DHCP to point to SRC rather than 3300 or if you only want to record some of your devices you boot these devices in TW mode (as per ralphs post) and point at the SRC. The SRC will auto detect devices registered to it and then you enable these devices to record.
The SRC works like a proxy and basically decrypts the MiNET voice packets of calls passing through it ands sends clear voice to the CRE.

I have set that ACD phone now into TW mode, but am still getting the error.  Might the SRC need to be rebooted?  Or might it need some time.  Boy you guys are alot more helpful than Mitel so far!  Thanks.  I will still watch it.

That was it!  I can now see those extensions setup in the SRC and the CRE is now able to record the calls.  Thanks so much to everyone for helping me out.  I love this forum!
