Call forward (via 5340) - what timeer does it use
« on: November 09, 2010, 08:22:44 AM »
Hi all,

If call forwarding always is activated from a 5340 set, via the superkey menu... does anyone know what ringing timer governs how long it forwards, before re-calling the the call back to the set.  Now common sense would dictate that the NART and the CFNA timers would be involved. but for the life of me the documentation does not mention the scenario from the set, only for when forwarding is programmed via the system.

this is on a 3300 running MCD 4.0

cheers

A phone with CFA active has nothing todo with the call flow timers wise.
Depending on the exact scenario the timers involved can be 1. Call Forward - no Answer Timer for extension or trunk 2. No Answer Recall Timer of the destination.

Thanks Wiseguy,

the scenario is that the set is forwarding to a mobile and rings for approx 4 - 5 rings and then returns to the set.  The client would like this extended for their set so that their mobile will ring for longer and even possibly reach their mobile voicemail.  this definately sounds like a No Answer recall adjustment, but... on the trunks or on the sets?

The system is using the COS of the calling trunk and not the called trunk. That might be one and the same in your case.
