xlite software not receiveing calls

I have the xlite software installed on my pc, Itregisters and shows up as in service in the hq, I can call outside the network and extensions within the network but I cannot call the xlite extension I get dead air then the prompt to leave a vm. So I know i'm hitting the phone system it just doesn't transfer to the xlite software. this install is an upgrade from the old shoretel system so I did some more digging and found that I can receive a call from the hq when my laptop is on the 2 networks that were setup back when it was shoretel, any new network works fine except I can't receive a call.
any thoughts as I have tried everything I know but I am very new to this phone stuff

is there a f/w, NAT, between you and the call server? Sure sounds like it.

nope, I have a core with a bunch of vlans, no filtering or blocking form vlans 1 or 2 it works from vlan 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 I can call out but not call into the xlite. weird
the phone system would be on vlan 2 in the above senario

not being able to receive a call in SIP is generally because the contact address (header your x-lite sends in it's REGISTER message to call control) isn't reachable by the call server for some reason.
I'm not familiar with Shoretel so Ican't even suggest where to find logs.
A wireshark capture at your client end might shed light on things.

after looking at the logs of the pcap I see this over and over
INVITE sip:1767
1767 being the extension of the softphone, it never seems to get passed this to make the call

I ee this error in my event log when I call the softphone and let it go to vm
any ideas
