Mitel 250 VM to Email (g suite hosted)
« on: August 30, 2018, 12:03:28 PM »
Hey all,

I have a client here whom we have just upgraded their Mitel system to the 250 about 2 weeks ago. I have been configuring extensions as well as SIP extensions for Phone Manager. Now I am on to the voicemail to email aspect of the setup and having quite a bit of trouble getting the email gateway setup correctly. Yesterday I spent a lot of time (probably too much) browsing around and googling this issue. I have seen a ton of forums with this exact issue and tried replicating their solutions but I am still at a loss.

Essentially, I was hoping someone may be of help in guiding me what exact logs I should be looking for to hunt this down. This is my first email gateway setup on this system. Thanks in advance!

wtatx,

What type of configuration are you trying to do; Forward and Copy or Enhanced Integration?

How do you currently have it configured?

To look at Logs open up SA&D and look under Favorites or System Information for the System Information box. Then click the View System Logs and look for the following log (mail.mainlog) to see what it is having a problem with.

Thanks,

TE

Thank you Tech Electronics. Currently I only have "forward & copy" set for them.

Currently my configuration is as follows:

Administrator E-Mail Address: no_reply@xxx.com
E-mail Address: no_reply@xxx.com
E-mail Real Name: Voicemail
E-mail SMTP Port: 587 (currently.. I have tried with the basic 25 port as well as 465)
E-mail SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
E-mail System: SMTP
E-mail username: no_reply@xxx.com
Gateway Password: #######

I will now try and hunt down that log. I was having difficulties finding that yesterday via SA&D

btw they are on version 6.3.1.0

wtatx,

I am not saying you set this up wrong, but I have never used smtp.gmail.com before although it should work according to this link.

https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en

I have always use the aspmx.l.google.com as I don't expect to send outside of those domains during a Forward and Copy scenario.

Anyway, you will need to look at what you have setup under IP Settings and make sure the following are setup correctly.

DNS Primary
DNS Alternate
DNS Searchlist

Perform an SSH session to your controller and use the command line to ping smtp.gmail.com and make sure it can resolve it.

Thanks,

TE
