Maximum number BLF used
« on: August 30, 2018, 04:10:00 AM »
Hi all,
Our reception uses the MiVoice Business Console with the BLF lists. Our reception is an overflow point for a lot of departments, so they want to see the presence of nearly everyone of the company. Therefore we've added a DSS/Busy Lamp key to every person so that their presence is visible.

Right now we have 438 BLF keys active and the maximum is 439.
I've contacted our supplier if it's possible to have more keys.
He said that, according to Mitel standards, 439 is the maximum.
I searched a lot on the internet but I couldn't find these standards.

Is it possible to upgrade this number? Does someone know why 439 is a maximum?

Hi ,

I'm not sure there is a limitation.

Can you try to create phantom user with 3 DSS busy lamp keys , and add in Mivoice console ?

No I can't. I get an error saying: 'There is no more room for new records'.

Search the help files for Flexible Dimensioning.

You have to take memory from another area and allocate it to the Busy Lamp Groups in the Dimension Selection form.

I have never had the need to do it but I believe that's how it's done.

Thnx Sarond, that was the information I needed.
439 is the default value that's allocated to the Busy Lamp Groups.
However our supplier doesn't like to change these values.
I will ask them what the consequences can be.

Thnx again!

YOu have this error when you try to create a new user with BLF , or on the same user already created.

About Flexible Dimensioning , you should not play with this menu without a Mitel enginneer.

The main thing about flexing dimensions is when you upgrade the system, there is normally a choice to restore dimensions from the backup file I think.

I agree only during a restore or upgrade where this can cause issues. When I have done it, I think I took from departments or locations. I had a setup that needed lots of routes
