ring group VM
« on: July 04, 2018, 10:15:00 AM »
Hello hope someone can help

I am looking to set up a ring group where the final destination if no one picks up is the VM on a specific destination in the group. I have tried terminal ring and terminal cascade ring but the final destination is always the first number on the list. i want it top be the last number. Any ideas?

1.  Create a phantom ext and number it *xxxx (where xxxx is the DN of the user who’s voice mail you want the call to go to).

2. Set the call rerouting always on the phantom ext to your voice mail pilot number.

3.  Use the new phantom ext as the overflow destination for your ring group.

When the call follows the path, it goes to the voice mail and the * causes it to go to the xxxx mail box.

This has worked for me. Unfortunately i am not by my lab, so let me know if it doesn’t work for you and I will test it and make sure I didn’t miss anything.

I always you a huntgroup nametag with the number * or # followed by the mailbox number.  Reroute this always to voicemail and when dialled it will go straight to the specific mailbox, and use this number as your overflow.
