Change extentison number when user dials "0" for operator
« on: April 19, 2018, 03:42:03 PM »
Hello,

Where in the web portal do I go to change the extension number for when a caller dials "0" for the operator.

Currently it calls extension 105, how can I change it to extension 100?

I would go to the maintenance command line and enter locate number 0 to find out what it is. Could be a speedcall, button or whatever. For me it is usually a speedcall.

Thanks for the lead!

Wonder why it says 298 as the actual number.  (Refer to attached screenshot)

I dialed 298 and it's our main voicemail greeting.

Do you think I should change it to the extension I want?

On closer review, I do not see all the other digits when the auto attendant is in use.
For example: press 1 for sales, press 2 for shipping, etc... these numbers are not under System Speed Calls.

Where can I locate this?

I wouldn't recommend changing it just yet...

Do you mean when someone dials 0 from an internal phone, or an external caller dials 0 in the voicemail? They are treated differently and how you would change it would vary based on the type of voicemail you have, embedded, Nupoint, or something else.

I mean when an external call comes in they are greeted by the auto attendant.  They have the option to select "0" for the operator (the office secretary, and her extension is 105), I want to change that extension to 105.  (I want the call to go to a different person now).

I have NuPoint Web Console.

Then you will need to look at the at that call flow... it is most likely a call director mailbox with menu and you will need to look at how 0 is defined in that menu. It could also be (less likely) in the Auto Attendant configuration or the general Operator point in the system.

Changing the system speed dial in the 3300 likely isn't going to change anything.
