Forward a Multiline Appearance Group
« on: March 22, 2018, 05:37:20 PM »
We have a department that uses a Multiline Appearance Group as their main line. There is no physical phone associated with the department number. The new director wants to be able to forward their main line, the MAG, to another department during meetings, etc. I have been unable to find a way for them to do a forward on the MAG. Any ideas how to accomplish this for them?

I think,
Call Forwarding - Follow Me - Third Party *65
Cancel Call Forwarding Follow Me - Third Party *75

Give them the right CoS and then give them this FAC on a key.

Be aware this FAC could vary from system to system, so make sure to check your system.

Ok I have changed the CoS to Yes on  Third Party Call Forward Follow Me Allow. The FAC is set at *56 and cancel at *62. How do I make it work with the MAG? If I do the *56 from a normal desk phone, I can then dial the MAG, then silence. Does this mean the MAG is now going to that phone?

The reason you get silence is that it is waiting for more input. (i.e. the destination to forward to)

You need to dial *56, Multiline DN, Destination
To cancel dial *62, Multiline DN.

You know when a FAC has been accepted by the controller because it gives you an audible tone - three fast beeps, from memory.

This is how I do it:
eg, main reception = 2000, VM = 5000

"Press this button if you want to forward all Reception calls to Voicemail"
*6520005000

"Press this button and then enter the target extension you want Reception forwarded to"
*652000

"Press this button to cancel all forwards on the Reception number"
*752000

Thank you all for your help. Today we tested it and HR is very happy now. I was never able to get a button working for it using system speedcalls or personal speedcalls but they were happy just dialing the code and then the number.

I have had to program pauses sometimes for some things, insert a P.
Also, depending on your numbering plan, putting a # in there to finish a number sometimes helps.

For example, this was a speeddial key to get a user into a shared VM box: 70000P*1P6239*
