Donating a phone system and phones
« on: February 15, 2018, 08:37:52 PM »
Our company was recently acquired, and we have been integrated into the acquiring company's phone system (Cisco).

So we have a Mitel 3300 and a pbx phones and IP phones, and a MiCollab server that we don't need.  We were looking to donate this stuff to a charity or non-profit thru a partner, but is it even worth doing so?  Is most of the licensing transferable?

Just curious if anyone knows off the top of their head. Thanks!

bmr76,

Donating the equipment isn't an issue at all, but the licensing would have to be transferred to the new user. If they are not going to use the same vendor then the ARID would also have to be transferred to an authorized dealer of their choosing.

The vendor you work with on the Mitel equipment would have to be involved in this process to transfer the licensing and ARID if they are not going to use the same vendor.

Thanks,

TE
