Phone Factory reset 69xx

Hi folks ,

To reset 69xx phones a use parameter --> advance --> factory reset .

but after reboot , the phone keep the DN

Any idea ?

Check the DN on your call server.. you have to remove the MAC address of the 69xx phone.

Of course it would... The phones are dumb in this regard, much like "Clearing the PIN" on the old 53xx phones, it does nothing as long as the MAC is still associated with the extension in the call server.

Hi;

I know it's possible to do it from Pbx , but i want to do it from phone  :D :D , i don't want to give access to all team to the Pbx .

So , when you have a hot desk user, if i understand :

1 - deconnect the hotdesk user
2- clear the extension mac adress

what is the purpose of "reset factory"
To clear out any settings in the phone itself locally. VLAN, static IP, teleworker information, and any other local settings to the phone. Performing a factory reset does not make any changes to the MCD, that MAC address is still associated with that extension. The phone itself holds no station level configuration.

Yes, at this point the phone on a reset should come up with "Please enter PIN" prompt. Really, just wiping the MAC address disassociates the phone from the user. Depending on your configuration you may also need to delete the user and/or device in some situations.

What are you trying to accomplish?

Another question :

When i restart or i reset my hotdesk user , after reboot the user is automatically connected . When i check th COS Hot Desk External User - Permanent Login are set to NO.

any other thing to check ?

Personally, I was more interested in having my hot-desk users automatically logged back in after an outage (generator test, etc...).
So I edited settings in - I think - Controller registry, so that hotdesk users would be logged back in after an outage.
 
I recently had to attend a site to move their controller to a new office. The users' phones were all packed away in crates, I moved the controller, and over the next 3 days, the removalists and IT people put the phones back on desks.
Imagine my surprise to discover that the phones logged everybody back in, even 3 days later! - that's almost 400 people who didn't log any support tickets about forgetting their PIN! Result!
 
I have no idea why you would want a phone to forget its user. But you should be able to do the opposite of what I did and make it less convenient for the users by changing whatever the time-out was that I changed in the Controller Registry.
