The MiCollab appliance comes pre-packaged and does not require you to select an OS.
It is delivered as a complete OVA file, with the OS and applications pre-loaded in to it. All that is needed to do is deploy the VM in to your environment. VMTools support is already included as well.
In the background it does run SME server, which is based on CentOS.
