MiVoice Business Live Music On Hold over IP
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:11:25 PM »
I need to configure this on MiVoice 8.0 SP2.

As anyone already setup this?

I found in the KB something with merbridge, but I want to see other option.

Thanks.

I've set it up as a demo in my lab.
It's pretty straight forward.
I was simple enough that I didn't write up a how-to for it.

It's a SIP device.
Do you have the Merbridge help file?

Yes I have the file.  I'm looking to find a sip device that can connect to an external audio source.  Can Membridge do it?

What did you used in your lab?

I think I mentioned a method to connect via a fxo sip device, but it requires clean talk battery and coupling transformer. I have read elsewhere that someone did this with a fxs device, but never heard that it would it would sustain a reboot as I think not.

The basic circuit I setup on my bench was using a grandtream 503 I believe.  Emulated a line attached with talk battery and acoustically coupled the source with a transformer. My test was for basic theory, but audio was presented albeit I may have used a noisy talk battery and a toner as the source.

Something like a Bogen WMT-1A might help when connecting to an audio source that isn't 600 ohms. I think as long as you have a clean battery that is above 16V for the Grandstream this would work. The ATA needs the battery to think a line is connected.

Just some FYI

I tried using a TA7102.
It worked if I answered in manually.
The way it worked is the PBX calls the device and the device needs to answer.
I wasn't able to make that happen automagically.
If someone has a better solutions I'd love to hear it.

I will have to look the next time I go back to a certain site how we did this... we simply used a Grandstream HandyTone device, not sure what model as we have used a lot over the years, and an ONS MOH adapter from an SX-200 ICP (P/N 50006162). The adapter has a 600 ohm short on the line side that plugs into the Grandstream and holds the port off-hook and the music hooks to the other side, somehow we had a bunch of these on our shelf because the SX-200ICP kit would come with one and the sales people would always order an extra one (something weird in the configurator I guess).

I don't remember exactly what we did, was a couple years ago, but I vaguely remember the sales person telling the customer it would take something like 4 hours and we were done in like 20 minutes, so it must have been pretty simple.

I tend to agree with Ralph that you need to connect a device such as Ace mentioned to a fxs. It should then start working, this is where I'm not certain of a reboot survival as I would think the ata would consider the port off hook and not answer the incoming request.

I was pondering this while driving and think with the Grandstream 503 which has both a fxs and fxo, it may be possible to turn off all tones and programming capability on the fxs and loop it back into the fxo port and y adapter it to a coupling transformer such as Ace's 200ICP add-on device.

My main bench system is being used on a site so I can fix some corruption on a customer system, but will try this when I have time.

For this purpose we can simply use our IVR system that acts as an SIP extension and can play whatever it is configured for (music, text to speech or mixing them both together, it can play different audio depending on time, whatever...).

@august: if you want some demo, please let me know.

@petr.necas
Is there anyway to take a feed from the audio port on you IVR?

Ralph, unfortunately, we do not have any public website about the IVR system yet, but few of our customers are already using it.
