3300 Imbeded voicemail
« on: August 14, 2017, 09:28:41 AM »
Hi,

Is there away to leave the voicemail message on the destination extension when the call is forwarded from a different extension?

3300 Release 6.0 SP3
12.0.3.15 with embedded voicemail.

Thanks.

Yes there are ways.

The 2 most common is using an ACD Path to route the call to voicemail, the other is to use Name Tag Hunt Groups.

How many users are you wanting to do this for?

only one ext 555. I'm looking to be able to forward it to

ext 311 - when the user is in a meeting.

ext 312 - when busy/no answer.

ext 313 - after hours.

we will do the forwarding manually in each case and we would like the caller to get the greeting of the destination mailbox and be able to leave a message on it.

Ok try this, assuming that 1st Alt Reroute is set to voicemail on extension 555 and the others have valid mailboxes.

Program the following Nametag hunt groups
*311 - with member 311
*312 - with member 312
*313 - with member 313

When in a meeting forward 555 to *311 (not 311), after the route timer to VM you should get the greeting of 311
Do the same for the other destinations.

This is the easiest method that I could think of.

It worked very nicely! Thank you. but since I have you helping here allow me to use your knowledge on one more follow up step

now I tried to program 3 buttons  on a 5340 phone

button 1 - call forward to *311
button 2 - call forward to *312
button 3 - call forward to *311

but I if I Press on any of them it will forward to *311 because it's taking it as my default forwarding, if there away around that?

Regards,

I think you programmed your button as "Forward" instead of making it a speedcall button.
I did one of these the other day - they want to be able to occasionally forward their office ring group (2000) to a different ring group (6000), so I programmed speedcall buttons on their phone:
Key1: "Forward Group" *6520006000
Key2: "Cancel FWD" *752000

The FAC you will use will probably be *64 & *74

As Vince says, use the FAC's for call forwarding.
Program it as a System Speed Call and assign it to buttons, or assign it as a personal speed call directly on the button.

Also assign a button to cancel the call forward, the system will then use the reroute position and get the caller into the VM when no forwarding is active.

Hi,

It did not work for me i think I'm missing something. VinceWhirlwind, *65 is your call forwarding feature code?

did you program (*6520006000) as a system speed call?

I created a system speed call #34 that will dial **77555*311 to forward ext 555 to hunt group *311 but it did not work.

not sure what im doing wrong.

From your statement I believe your call forward code is **77?

Try and dial the code directly without using a speed call, at what point does it fail?

It fails once I try to enter the ext 555, if I enter (**77*311) instead of (**77555*311) it takes the line off-hook and gives me a dial tone when I hang up the phone will be forwarded to *311 so it does not forward right away it gives me a line and I have to hang up.

Ok so there are 2 codes that we are dealing with here.

What Vince is referring to is Third Party call forwarding, this is when you forward another number other than your own.
{FAC} {Number to Forward} {Destination}
So in Vince's example (looks like he uses the same FAC's as the sample in the help files)
*65 - Call Forwarding - Follow Me - Third Party Code, 2000 is what he wants to forward and 6000 is the destination.
*65 2000 6000

The way I would imagine it is forwarding from the actual station that wants to be forwarded.
For this you would just use the "Call Forwarding - Follow Me" code from the extension

What is your FAC for Call Forwarding - Follow Me?
You then dial {FAC} {Destination} if it works you hear a blip, blip ...... blip, blip as confirmation.

oh Thanks for the clarification on the access codes, it would be good if we can transfer ext 555 from another phone/extension.

Call Forward - Follow Me - Third Party feature code is blank if I try to assign it a code (*65 for example) it takes it but if I try it on the phone it says not allowed.

You have to allow it in the COS.

555 need to be allowed someone to call forward third party (Third Party Call Forward Follow Me Accept) and the other extension needs the option "Third Party Call Forward Follow Me Allow"
