Reporting on number of calls
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:13:54 AM »
Hello All,

Firstly this website is a fantastic recourse!

I would like to run a report which displays the total number of calls for each individual internal IP phone.

Is the above possible, how can I set this up, can this be broken down into number of calls answered, if it was internal/external etc?

I've had a quick look on the Mitel MiVoice business tool but can't see anything obvious (Novice User)

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Using the maintenance command LOGSYS READ SMDR NEWEST 5000  I can see the last 5000 calls but it's not great.

Any suggestions?

If I'm reading this correctly, you have a 3300 (MiVB) without any reporting software add on.
There are no reports built into the system that will do what you ask but you can do something else.
Be sure that SMDR is turned on in each COS you have assigned to your devices and trunks.   Be sure to tick internal if you want to see internal calls.
Next edit the SMDR form and turn on the features you want to see.
If SMDR has not been turned on up to now then there will be no data.
Once you've actually collected data then you can enter this command in maintenance:
LOGS RE SMDR ALL
It will print to the screen all the SMDR records.  From there copy and paste it into a text file and then import it into Excel.
The help files will tell you everything you need to know about reading the logs.

You updated your post while I was writing my last one.
There are no other reports available natively in the system.
Try the copy and paste and see if you can create your reports in Excel.

Thanks Ralph, it seems to be loading now. I thought the maximum was 5000 lines to be displayed but it seems to be producing more now.

Remembering on later version you can schedule a file transfer of the SMDR data.
It is covered in the help files.

Any way to kill a command whilst it's running?

Thanks for the kill command Ralph, I was able to create the report I required using the data from the SMDR log but I've noticed something odd which has totally confused me.

The companies external land line (800900) is directed to an internal number (555) which is mapped to the receptionists phone, she can then pick this up and the correct internal direct dial is displayed in the log and if anyone else picks (555) up again the correct internal direct dial is displayed in the logs.

There are instances where someone rings the companies external land line (800900), it routes to the internal number (555) and then the internal number (555) picks up but the (555) is not on a specific Mitel phone, below is the specific log.

07/28 04:12P 00:00:33 T001  *** 555                         555
           05478800900 555

Can't be voicemail as that's got it's own specific number.

Hopefully the above makes sense!

thanks,

Andy

* Seems odd if some dials 2545 (An incomplete external number) and hangs up why is this even logged - I thought a call was only logged when all users accepted the call

Can't be voicemail as that's got it's own specific number.

That log shows the call ringing to ext 555 for 33 seconds but it was never answered.
If 555 is a hunt group then if the call is answered it will show the port that answered it in the far right field.
